Meloman: from blind spots to real-time intelligence
How Central Asia’s largest family retail holding deployed VIP alerts, security watchlists and employee exclusion, with 99.46% counting accuracy.
Central Asia's largest family retail holding.
Meloman is Central Asia’s largest home entertainment and family retail holding, founded in 1987 in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. The group operates 40+ stores across every major Kazakh city under its flagship brands: Meloman (books, music, household goods), MARWIN (toys and children’s products) and Comfort (DIY). With 1,500+ employees and a loyalty club of over 1,000,000 members, the company entered a new chapter after Aqniet Group acquired the Meloman-MARWIN network in late 2024.
The challenge
Counting without understanding.
A counter below 80%
The previous people counter ran below 80% accuracy. Every downstream number inherited the error.
Staff in the numbers
Employee traffic polluted the analytics, and nobody knew by how much.
No eyes on who enters
No security watchlist, no VIP alerts. The stores could count, but not understand.
The solution
Vitrac Pro at MARWIN.
Security watchlist alerts
Instant alerts via email, Telegram and dashboard when a flagged person enters.
VIP recognition
Staff know the moment a top client walks in. Opt-in, on-device.
Employee exclusion
Staff faces are excluded automatically, so traffic numbers stay clean.
In their words
“We needed a solution that could grow with our network, not just count visitors, but understand who is in our stores. The pilot gave us confidence that this technology is ready for full-scale deployment.”
